(Crankers.com) Ashli Babbitt became a well-known name in politics after she was shot dead by a Capitol Police officer during the January 6 incident at the United States Capitol in 2021. She was climbing through a window and the officer shot her, instead of pushing her back, which sparked a major controversy across the nation. She was eventually cleared of any criminal wrongdoing, but it was too late and she had passed away.
Years later, Babbitt will receive full military funeral honors because she was an Air Force veteran since 2004. She spent four years on active duty. She was deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates. She later served in the National Guard. She was also part of the “Capital Guardians” – which is the 113th Wing, who are responsible for defending the National Capitol Region.
Despite her extensive military service and dedication to America, there are still some people who are angry about Babbitt receiving the military honors funeral.
At some point over the years, the Capitol Police officer was on trial for shooting Babbitt. He was cleared of any wrong doings.
President Trump recently awarded Babbitt’s family a sum of almost $5 million in a wrongful death settlement.
