(Crankers.com) A judge recently ordered a shutdown of the ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ detention facility in the Florida Everglades, but now an appeals court says not so fast. The Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit just put a hold on the court order that told the state and government to shut down the facility within the next two months.
This becomes a win for President Donald Trump amid his mass deportation work, as the site will remain open for now.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will probably win the appeal because ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ does not qualify as a “major federal action” under the laws, and no federal money was spent to develop it.
The detention center is a holding spot for illegal immigrants before they get deported.
