Florida is going to lose one Marco Rubio, but possibly gain a Lara Trump in the process. Not a bad trade UP if you ask me, but I don’t run Florida, so it’s not up to me. Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis will have to replace Sen. Marco Rubio if he leaves to work with Donald Trump in the new administration.
Trump might tap Rubio to serve as the new Secretary of State, which would mean Rubio leaves his role as a Florida Senator and DeSantis gets to replace him. Lara Trump was on TV talking about the possibility of her taking the Senate seat when she said: “If I am able to serve, I would love to serve the people of Florida… Truly to have that opportunity I think would be incredible.”
Who is Marco Rubio? Marco Rubio is an American politician and lawyer who has been serving as the senior United States senator from Florida since 2011. He is a member of the Republican Party and has held several key positions.
Rubio was born in Miami, Florida, to Cuban immigrant parents. He has a background in law, having graduated from the University of Miami Law School. He also played college football and was briefly engaged to a Miami Dolphins cheerleader.
Recently, Rubio has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to be the U.S. Secretary of State. This nomination has generated significant debate due to Rubio’s past criticisms of Trump and his strong stance on issues such as China and human rights.
Who is Lara Trump? Lara Trump is an American former television producer and the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump. She is married to Eric Trump, Donald Trump’s third child. Lara has been a prominent figure in the Republican Party and currently serves as the co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) since March 2024.
Lara grew up in North Carolina and graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in communications. She has a background in TV news production and has been involved in her father-in-law’s political campaigns. She has also been a regular guest on Fox News and has produced promotional videos for the Trump campaign.
Recently, Lara has been mentioned as a potential candidate to replace Florida Senator Marco Rubio in the Senate, following Rubio’s nomination for Secretary of State. She has expressed interest in the position but has not yet been contacted by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
