Late breaking details on Alec Baldwin charges
Alec Baldwin will be charged with involuntary manslaughter and a recent news video has more details. Previously, Alec Baldwin’s attorney has released a statement confirming that the family of Halyna Hutchins has reached an undisclosed settlement with Baldwin in the wrongful death lawsuit filed against him and others after her killing on the set of the film “Rust” in 2021.
In February 2021, the Hutchins family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Baldwin for the death of Hutchins caused by his discharge of a prop gun after being informed by David Halls, the assistant director, that the gun was “cold.” The release added that Matthew Hutchins, widower of Halyna Hutchins who was tragically killed on the set, will be an executive producer on the film.
In a statement, Hutchins said, “We have reached a settlement, subject to court approval, for our wrongful death case against the producers of Rust, including Alec Baldwin and Rust Movie Productions, LLC. As part of that settlement, our case will be dismissed. The filming of Rust, which I will now executive produce, will resume with all the original principal players on board in January 2023.”
