Co-hosts of The View got into a heated moment during the show when Joy Behar told Meghan McCain “I did not miss you” after she returned to work from maternity leave.
It all went down when the hosts were talking about political parties and if there should be more of them, particularly more than the main two of Democrats and Republicans. Of course, as with many political discussions, this one also went a bit haywire and the pair began to bicker during the show.
Behar said: “Let the Republicans fight amongst themselves… On the one hand, you have the Republicans, on the other you have the seditionists. That’s the fight that’s going on in the Republican party right now. In the Democratic party, you have the progressives versus the moderates, which is … what it always is. It’s typical politics. The Republican party is in much more trouble right now.”
But McCain did not seem to agree and she begins to mention Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and Behar cuts her off!
McCain: “Are you kidding me? You have AOC saying—”
Behar: “Excuse me! I’m not done!”
McCain: “It’s just, that’s completely inaccurate! You have AOC fighting right now about whether she’s going to end up primary-ing Chuck Schumer. Coming out, not saying she has the full support of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. You have the squad that’s coming out very intensely, very angry that Biden hasn’t filled out his Cabinet with more progressives. Bernie Sanders also coming out saying he’s angry. The idea that there isn’t fighting within the Democratic party as well—”
Behar: “Excuse me! I was speaking! I was talking! I’m talking about—”
Behar: “I did not. I did not miss you. Zero.”
The pair of hosts have a history of bickering with each other with often ends up being the more memorable bits of their shows together, particularly because their drama generates views.
