Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar went on a vulgar rant as a response to fellow Democrat Joe Manchin’s announcement where he stated he wouldn’t vote to support President Joe Biden’s multi billion-dollar Build Back Better plan.
Manchin emphasized his concern about inflation in an interview with Fox News, saying that it seemed to be affecting every West Virginian. He went on to say that many were struggling to get to work because of the high cost of gasoline and that additional expenses such as groceries and utility bills were further complicating their lives. According to his statement, those were the reasons behind him not signing the piece of legislation.
During an appearance with MSNBC, Omar responded to Manchin’s words.
After emphasizing that Manchin could not be trusted, Omar declared that Manchin’s excuses were ridiculous. Furthermore, Omar believes Manchin’s assertion that he has been attempting to assist West Virginians is false.
Omar said:
The excuses that he just made, I think, are complete bulls***… It is really disheartening to hear him say that he has been trying to get there for the people of West Virginia because that’s a complete lie. The people of West Virginia would greatly benefit from their families having access to long-term elderly care and care for folks with disabilities. They would benefit from the expansion of the child tax credits; they will benefit from having access to pre-k. There are just so many things that, you know, the people of West Virginia desperately need. And we know that he is not working on behalf of their interests, and I really am just completely disappointed and disgusted by his reasoning.
