A woke Democrat just took one on the chin after her ruling to ban an iconic WWII Times Square kiss photo from VA medical facilities was REVERSED. Once people on social media got a copy of the memo to ban the photo from V-J Day, the public spoke out about it. The person behind the ban was RimaAnn Nelson, a Veterans Health Administration official with a controversial past.
She told people to remove the photo or any depictions of it and put up new material that was “appropriate.” Nelson, clearly a dunce, is now facing reality as the ban is being reversed just hours after a copy of the most stupid memo on the planet was posted by an account titled “End Wokeness” on X., according to Military Times, who reported further on the woke nonsense by RimaAnn Nelson:
Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough is overruling plans to ban the famous Times Square kiss photo marking the end of World War II from all department health care facilities, a move criticized as political correctness run amok.
…
“This image is not banned from VA facilities — and we will keep it in VA facilities,” said a post from his official X account. Department officials echoed in a separate statement that “VA will NOT be banning this photo from VA facilities.”
Officials said the memo should not have been sent out and was formally rescinded on Tuesday. They did not provide details of whether senior leaders were consulted on the matter ahead of Nelson’s memo.
The photo is a memory from the WWII era. It was taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt, a journalist who was in New York City back in August 14 of 1945. Here’s a copy of the memo below – and remember, the photo is NOT banned thanks to Denis McDonough putting his foot down on the hypothetical throat of the woke lady RimaAnn Nelson.
