Despite Hillary Clinton saying she was not running for president in 2024, a former advisor thinks otherwise. It was Dick Morris, an experienced political consultant, who believes that Hillary Clinton is “dusting off” Bill Clinton’s playbook by criticizing Joe Biden’s “open borders” decision because she was planning to run for president in 2024. However, there is absolutely no confirmation from Hillary Clinton at this time, but this is what Dick Morris believes according to reports.
Former Bill Clinton adviser Morris claimed that Hillary is positioning herself to run for President again in two years as a “moderate” option for Democrats. This would be her third attempt.
“I see more and more signs that Hillary’s going to run,” Morris said in a recent interview. He emphasized that Hillary was openly stating that Americans “do not believe in open borders.”
“These are all signals that she is going to be the moderate candidate for President. She’s going to say after the election, ‘See, the left cost us the House and the Senate. If we stay with a left-wing candidate in 2024, we’re going to lose the White House. I’m the only one who will tack to the center and give us a chance at victory,’” Morris said, according to NY Post.
Morris pointed out that this was the exact strategy he designed for Bill Clinton in 1992 that led him to victory. “Hillary is just dusting off Bill’s playbook that I wrote for him and applying it herself this year,” he said.
In a recent interview, Hillary Clinton said: “So many other Americans — I happen to believe still the majority of Americans — are good-hearted and generous and when people end up on their doorstep in need, they’re going to respond. They’ll feed them and house them and the kids in the AP Spanish class will be let out of high school so they can go and translate. That’s the kind of American spirit that we try to celebrate at the Clinton Global Initiative”. She concluded: “Nobody wants open borders who has any idea of how government and countries work.”
Morris believes that he knows what is going to happen in 2024. “Once Biden pulls out, the polling will show that the Democrats are leaning toward some crazy radical like Gavin Newson, Bernie Sanders. Maybe even AOC herself,” Morris said, referring to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
”That’s going to drive the Democratic Party leaders to go to Hillary and say, ‘Hey look. Please run again. We need you to save us from the crazy left,” Morris said. “Otherwise we’ll have Sanders as our candidate. We’ll lose Congress by a ton. And we’ll get wiped out in the presidential race”, he noted.
In a recent interview with CBS News, Clinton was asked if she plans to run for President again. She replied: “No, no, but I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that we have a president that respects our democracy and the rule of law and upholds our institutions.”
Many people believe that Hillary Clinton feels that Donald Trump should be defeated. He hinted that he would run for President again. “It should start in the Republican Party,” Clinton said. “Grow a backbone. Stand up to this guy. And heaven forbid if he gets the nomination, he needs to be defeated soundly and sent back to Mar-a-Lago.”
As reported back in June, Hillary then suggested it would be too disruptive to run against Joe Biden. The former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton excluded a 2024 presidential campaign, saying her entry into the race is “out of the question” and mentioned how the challenge to Joe Biden would have an impact on him, mostly saying it would be too “disruptive.”
Speaking to the Financial Times, the former US first lady and senator said she fully expects President Joe Biden to run for re-election in two years. When asked if she might see herself launching a campaign – after she unsuccessfully challenged Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination in 2008 and lost the general election to Donald Trump in 2016 – Clinton quickly rejected such a proposal.
“No, out of the question,” she said.
She added: “First of all, I expect Biden to run. He certainly intends to run. It would be very disruptive to challenge that.”
Biden has stated publicly and privately that he is planning to run for office in 2024, but that could change as the date gets closer.
