Not even a slap from Will Smith could have saved the Golden Globes – and Will Smith wasn’t slapping anyone, but maybe if he did then more people would have remembered the Golden Globes were even on. As more people become bored with tiresome, egotistical, patting themselves on the back award shows – the ratings keep showing the same. To make things worse, the Golden Globes didn’t even have Ricky Gervais this year – and he’s been the only part of the Globes worth watching when he roasts the entire audience in a sea of truth.
A website called Programming Insider revealed some damning statistics that suggest the Golden Globes may be on the path to one of their worst years in history, in terms of viewership. The report, filed here, had various statistics on different networks, showing a deep dive into the ratings etc.
