Sunny Hostin took being stupid to a level I didn't know was possible. Sunny Hostin made what could be the dumbest comment in 'The View' history when she suggested that the solar eclipse, cicadas emerging, and the earthquake felt in New Jersey/PA/NY could be linked to "climate change." I'm just waiting for the fact checkers to roast her like a marshmallow at this point. Sunny Hostin's comment about "climate change" was so bad that even her co-host Whoopi Goldberg called her out.
As 'The View‘ discussed the multiple topics, Sunny Hostin said: “All those things together would maybe lead one to believe that either climate change exists or something is really going on” – but then her co-hosts joked about it or called her out. Joy Behar said: “Except earthquakes are not at the mercy of climate change… It’s underground. It can’t.”
Hostin then asked: “How about the warming of the planet?” Whoopi Goldberg responded by saying, “no, it happens… And the eclipse, they’ve known about the eclipse coming because eclipses happen and they actually can say when these things are going to happen.”
Whoopi is right. Scientists know when eclipses are going to happen. How else did you think we all had solar vision glasses today? The scientists told us it would happen and it did. The cicadas are remerging. You know how we know this? It’s thanks to the scientists who study those patterns. The earthquake? Well, New Jersey sits along a fault line, so while earthquakes in this region are fairly rare – it’s definitely possible, as you’ve seen.
You should all know that I am not a scientist by any means. The scientists are much smarter and they didn’t go to school or do research all these years just to have some co-host on ‘The View’ make something up out of thin air. I’ll be sitting back waiting for Sunny Hostin to correct herself and for the fact checkers to put a violation on ‘The View’ for that clearly false implication. I ain’t the smartest clown in the room, but I know BS when someone on ‘The View’ says it out loud. The scary part is that she’s got an audience and it may lead her viewers to run into the wild wild world spewing some fake nonsense. Let’s hope ‘The View’s’ viewership was really low that day so not too many people heard Sunny Hostin’s dumb comment.
