Bungie and Microsoft team up for Destiny 2 on Game Pass

By FrankSeptember 1, 2020 Gaming

Bungie and Microsoft partner up and delivers Destiny 2 to Xbox Game Pass this September. Xbox Game Pass subscribers won’t have any troubles as the game will have no additional cost. Not only will players be able to access previous expansions, but they’d also get Destiny 2: Beyond Light DLC.

The standard editions of Destiny 2 DLC will be available. However, Destiny 2’s season pass will be sold separately. Microsoft commented that the launch of Destiny 2 into the Game Pass would be limited to the console version of the subscription. They are currently working on it and are planning to launch this with a PC subscription in late 2021.

Destiny 2’s Beyond Light expansion was originally scheduled to launch on September 22. However, Bungie delayed the expansion and moved the date to November 10. Bungie said that they experienced difficulties in the development due to the pandemic.

Destiny 2’s Beyond light introduces a new element called “stasis” to its players. Statis is connected to time manipulation. The major expansion focuses on Europa, Jupiter’s icy moon.

AztecCross showed a screenshot of the message. Game Pass subscribers will have access to the standard edition, with Forsaken and Shadowkeep, which will be available in September 2020. They will also release a version of Destiny 2 for Xbox Series X that includes 4K resolution with 60 frames per second. Those who own Destiny 2 on their Xbox one can migrate the game to their Xbox Series X via Smart Delivery. Subscribers also can stream Destiny 2 on their Android mobile devices via Cloud.

In the trailer for Beyond Light, released hours ago, Bungie showed the stasis freeze effect. The trailer features a hunter who built an icy wall and froze enemies that were near it. New subclasses will be introduced in the PvP environment.
