If the Apple App Store and Google Play remove Twitter from their platforms, Elon Musk, the fresh Twitter CEO, said that he might create an “alternative phone.” Nothing is planned right now, but it’s certainly a consideration for the man who helps put rockets in space, cars on the road, etc.
Liz Wheeler, a conservative commentator tweeted: “If Apple & Google boot Twitter from their app stores, @elonmusk should produce his own smartphone.” “Half the country would happily ditch the biased, snooping iPhone & Android. The man builds rockets to Mars, a silly little smartphone should be easy, right?” Added Liz, in her opinion.
Musk then responded by saying: “I certainly hope it does not come to that.” “But, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone,” Musk concluded, said a report on Daily Caller.
After the richest man on the planet became the Twitter CEO, Phil Schiller, the senior Apple executive who runs the company’s App Store, deleted his Twitter account. If the social media platform fails to adhere to guidelines, it risks being expelled from Apple and Google’s app stores, Yoel Roth said, who is the former head of trust and safety at Twitter.
Here is what Roth wrote in a New York Times op-ed: “Failure to adhere to Apple’s and Google’s guidelines would be catastrophic, risking Twitter’s expulsion from their app stores and making it more difficult for billions of potential users to get Twitter’s services.”
Whether Twitter will be removed from the two app stores or not, it surely would not be such a bad thing if the world gets a whole new type of phone by Elon Musk.
