CNN’s Don Lemon must be struggling for ratings these days as he asked, with a serious face, about the Royal Family paying reparations shortly after Queen Elizabeth II passed away. Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich soured the lemonhead and instantly put Don in his place, making him look like silent wordless bozo for what he said.
WATCH the video:
Don Lemon was talking about how wealthy the Royal family is and just had to throw some irrelevant race-baiting in there when he asked if they should pay reparations. Fordwich instantly looked like she knew in her mind that she was wasting time with CNN and Don Lemon and put him in his place faster than he could say anything else.
Lemon said: “All of this wealth — and you hear about it comes as England is facing rising cost of living … and then you have those who are asking for reparations for colonialism … some of those people want to be paid back. Members of the public are asking ‘why are we suffering when you have all of this vast wealth?’ Those are legitimate concerns.”
First of all, members of the public are NOT asking about the Royal Family paying reparations. Lemon clearly made that up because he didn’t have one single example of WHO asked. When you say things like “the public” or “people” that really means YOU are asking, but you’re masking it under the concept of other people asking. It’s like saying YOU want to know the answer, but want to pretend other people asked the question. I know this because it’s a journalism thing when you don’t want the heat thrown on you for such a stupid question, but you still want to get people irritated by saying it.
Fordwich mentioned that the supply chain of slaves goes where? Straight back to Africa where Africans were rounding themselves up and shipping off their own people. If anyone has to pay reparations, it would be Africa.
She said: “I think you’re totally right, if reparations need to be paid, we need to go right back to the beginning of that supply chain and say, “who was rounding up their own people and having them handcuffed in cages. Absolutely,”
She further mentioned that thousands of British naval members “died on the high seas trying to stop slavery” and maybe the people related to those folks should get some reparations too.
Don Lemon shut up instantly and called it “interesting.” When you call something interesting, that usually means you don’t care about what the person said or you’re not actually interested and you just want that part of the conversation to be over because there’s no point in carrying it on any further.
Don Lemon is perfect for CNN because he gives us a LOT to laugh at.
