Charlize Theron, the Oscar winner, showed her support for the drag community during the Drag Isn’t Dangerous telethon on Sunday. Appearing virtually among a group of friends, Theron declared her love and support for the queens and vowed to protect them from anyone who seeks to harm them. Theron, who is a mother to two daughters, urged viewers to support organizations that work towards ending hate and discrimination towards the drag community.

As reported on People, Theron had some very choice words for her virtue signaling:
“We love you queens. We’re in your corner and we’ve got you, and I will f— anybody up who’s trying to f— with anything with you guys,” said Theron, 47, as seen in a video tweeted by fan account Charlize Theron Daily.
“There are so many things that are hurting and, really, killing our kids, and we all know what I’m talking about right now and it ain’t no drag queen — because if you’ve ever seen a drag queen lip-sync for her life, it only makes you happier, it only make you love more, it makes you a better person,” Theron said.
Theron went on to ask viewers to “please support all the great organizations that are out there helping all of this nonsense go away like it should. All of these incredibly stupid policies. Bye! No more room for hate, only love, and love equals drag queens!”
Theron’s comments come at a time of unrest for the drag community in the United States, particularly in Tennessee, where the state passed legislation that restricts drag shows. Similarly, city officials in Port St. Lucie, Florida, canceled an LGBTQ+ Pride parade and restricted other events in anticipation of the signing of an anti-drag bill by Gov. Ron DeSantis. Theron’s support for the drag community highlights the need for continued efforts to end discrimination and hate towards marginalized groups.
Most people say drag queens aren’t being criticized unless they are performing or doing things in front of children, which should never be allowed because it’s inappropriate and parents who allow this should rethink their entire lives for making such a dumb mistake.
