You really can’t make this stuff up. It’s like the Democrats in California look at their own front yard, think it’s wonderful, then think that’s how the rest of the state looks too. Nope. That’s not reality. The video shows Democrat Gavin ‘hair gel’ Newsom suggest his state of sunny California is a “national model” for combating homelessness. However, California spent about $24 billion to fight homelessness and sorta lost track on the results of how that money was spent.
Do they even know what it was spent on? That’s another story all together. Clearly, homelessness wasn’t fixed as the streets in many towns are lined with tents and it looks like they should open tent shops. May as well sell tents if people are camping out on the streets all night. When I wrote about the inability to keep track of $24 billion in spending, I didn’t think Gavin Newsom would have the gelled-up balls to act like they’re a national model of anything.
If anything, the sentiment towards California is quite the opposite. Many Americans want California pushed out into the middle of the Pacific. That’s a state that the rest of us do NOT want to be like. CBS reported on the $24 billion spent on homelessness. There was an audit, and the results were basically people shrugging their shoulders. They’re not sure how the money truly impacted homelessness at all. The CBS report said this:
With makeshift tents lining the streets and disrupting businesses in cities and towns throughout California, homelessness has become one of the most frustrating and seemingly intractable issues in the country’s most populous state. An estimated 171,000 people are homeless in California, which amounts to roughly 30% of all of the homeless people in the U.S.
Despite the roughly billions of dollars spent on more than 30 homeless and housing programs during the 2018-2023 fiscal years, California doesn’t have reliable data needed to fully understand why the problem didn’t improve in many cities, according to state auditor’s report.
