Lawyers for the IRS whistleblower have told Congress that their client, who allegedly has information that could help take down the Biden administration in terms of mishandling an investigation into Hunter Biden, has been removed from the investigation on Hunter Biden. In other words, the whistleblower who was allegedly helping to investigate Hunter Biden and claimed to have damning info – is no longer on the case.
This information comes from ABC News who received a letter that suggested the whistleblower’s attorneys told members of the House and Senate Committee that his “entire investigative team” was removed from the Hunter Biden probe “at the request of the Department of Justice.” The letter further claimed the action was ‘retaliatory’ in nature and may be an ‘obstruction of a congressional inquiry.’
The DOJ responded to ABC News, saying:
The Department cannot comment on the matter. As to any investigation of Hunter Biden, as the Attorney General has said that investigation is being handled by U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who has full authority to make investigative decisions and to bring charges in any jurisdiction as he deems appropriate. I refer you to U.S. Attorney Weiss for any questions concerning his investigation.
It was previously stated that the lawyer representing the IRS whistleblower claimed they were an IRS criminal supervisory special agent who was handling a very sensitive investigation since 2020 and would only make some disclosures to Congress if they were protected.
