What the actual f*ck is that? Fashion is becoming increasingly bizarre. It all started when Kim K stepped out in an all-black jumpsuit that covered her entire body and face, and it seemed like the fashion world’s strangest concoction. However, Doja Cat managed to surprise us all.
Doja appeared in Paris, where she opened Schiaparelli’s fashion show. She wore red paint all over her body and 30K crystals that were glued to her figure and clothes. Doja opened Paris’ Haute Couture week. The look is named Doja’s Inferno. It took five hours for the team to complete the dazzling look, and the creator is Daniel Roseberry, a creative director at Schiaparelli. A British makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath assisted Roseberry.
Doja Cat, whose true name is Amalaratna Zandile Dlamini, has worn body paint for fashion purposes before. For A.W.A.K.E. Mode’s show in Paris in October, the rapper completely covered herself in gold body paint. She has also tried zigzag eye makeup at Vivienne Westwood.
McGrath said that Doja was very patient during the Inferno process, but the outcome was a magical masterpiece of utter brilliance. Crystals were put on the pop star and her clothes by hand. Her body was painted red, and her bustier, skirt, and boots were covered with Swarovski crystals, said a report on the BBC.
An interesting B.T.S. video shows Pat’s team’s hard work. They are seen painting the skin and applying a bunch of crystals. Schiaparelli was taken over by an American in 2019, and that was the first time that a French couture house saw such a scenario. Schiaparelli was created in 1927 by Elsa Schiaparelli. Among the celebrities that have lately worn the brand on the red carpet are Kendall Jenner, Julia Roberts, and Rihanna.
