SILICON VALLEY, Calif. — A technology businessman has pulled the plug on a social media site he started for introverted people because he says he couldn’t pull them out of their shells long enough to join.
Joss Heckler noted that the site, “IntroMax,” was designed as a tool to let the socially retarded have a means of interacting virtually with people rather than have to deal with them in the physical sense.
“Man, I tell you, I just thought that this was perfect for those folks, you know? I guess I just didn’t realize that ‘social’ part was gonna be such a big deal,” he said.
“I mean, heck, I’m on a lot of social sites as ‘someone else,’ ya know? I’m always pretending to be someone I’m not. It’s so fake! But that’s what I thought was so brilliant about IntroMax! It’s all about fake people, fake relationships, fake everything, but just for people who have zero chance of ever having anything real in terms of a life,” Heckler continued.
Asked what he planned to do now that his introvert venture flopped. the tech entrepreneur said he’s already working on a new social media site concept.
“I think there is a real market out there for a site for politicians,” he said. “I’m going to call it ‘TwoFacedBook.'”
