This lady was supposed to start a new job, but she explains how her anxiety got the best of her. My grandparents would have slapped me upside the head and said “take your ass to work, and don’t come back without a paycheck.” This generation is different though. I think they were raised by parents who sat on social media all day, so now this girl has anxiety and can’t even get herself to work.
Anxiety is a real thing though. Lots of people freeze up, freak out, or overthink the small things that other folks like myself can walk right into. I can’t describe it much better than that, but I know people who’ve got anxiety and it’s definitely a real thing.
On the contrary – you’ve got bills to pay, so get your ass to work, convince yourself it’s a good thing, and keep it moving. The way to defeat your overthinking is to have superior self-awareness and know you’re overthinking, then tell yourself to stop. It’s hard, but you can do it.
If you can put yourself out there on social media doing the ugly cry, then you can go to work. We know you can do it, so get off the phone and go work. If the job sucks, then find a new one and leave. But don’t let your anxiety get the best of you. Beat your anxiety’s ass with a belt like a nun in the old catholic schools. And get your eyebrows done. I see spider legs up there. Damn, what is that?
