On February 26, 2026, LAPD Officer Christopher Brandon Carnahan, 43, an 18-year veteran of the force, was charged with two felony counts of insurance fraud for allegedly exaggerating a 2023 on-duty elbow injury to collect full disability benefits after he was caught engaging in skydiving at Skydive Elsinore and lifting weights at the gym.
