(Crankers) Patrick Mahomes, the star quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, really doesn’t need to be dealing with this a week before Super Bowl LVIII, but here we are. You’d think Patrick’s annoying and horrible brother would be plenty to deal with, but now his father just got himself arrested and it’s like Patrick is the only responsible adult in the entire family.
Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested in Texas and charged with “driving while intoxicated third time or more” according to a sports report on CBS Sports. The report said the incident happened in Smith County and he was arrested by the Tyler Police Department on Saturday, Feb 3. Mahomes Sr. was released the following day. He was charged with a third-degree felony that could land him in jail for up to 10 years if he’s convicted of the crime and hit with the max sentence.
But this isn’t Mahomes Sr.’s first brush with the law. CBS Sports reported more on that, saying “jail records indicate Mahomes’ last arrest for DWI came in 2019.” CBS Sports followed that up with some information on the athletic background of the star quarterback’s dishelved father, adding the following:
Mahomes was a star athlete himself, an MLB pitcher who played for six teams, last appearing for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2003. This comes as his son is preparing to start in his fourth Super Bowl this upcoming Sunday in Las Vegas. With a win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, Mahomes II can become the fifth quarterback to win three Super Bowls, joining Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw and Troy Aikman.
As an Eagles fan, we’re rooting for the Chiefs because we’re in the midst of a rivalry with the San Francisco 49ers, and we simply can’t let the 49ers fans talk trash all year. No one actually cares about Taylor Swift. She’s a non-story. Who cares about her? She’s just another celebrity that gets like 3 seconds of air time during football games. They do this for all celebs, but she’s dating Travis Kelce, the Pfizer sellout – so she gets a few extra seconds of time. Hopefully Jason Kelce is at the Super Bowl ripping his shirt off and guzzling drinks with fans. Some folks are even calling this Super Bowl an Usher concert with a game before and after. That’s because Usher is doing the halftime show.
