Jay Leno can’t catch a break. The famous night show host and comedian has already dealt with burn injuries he sustained a while back. Now he’s battered and bruised, wearing an eyepatch and nursing a busted wrist from falling down a 60-foot hill. Leno also lost a fingernail.
How did it happen? Leno was staying at a Hampton Inn, just outside of the Pittsburgh area, when he got hungry. The restaurant he wanted to eat at was at the bottom of a windy road, but he tried to take a shortcut down a steep embankment. That turned out to be a bad idea as the 74-year-old took a tumble. A report on MSN gave more info:
“I broke my wrist, lost my nail on the finger,” Leno told “Inside Edition.” “And I’m all black and blue.”
Incredibly, Leno claimed that before eventually going to a hospital, he performed his stand-up set for a full crowd.
“I’ve got a show tonight,” Leno told TMZ. “It’s not that big a deal.”
