Fact Checking Policy

Crankers writers are required to use major sources for all articles. Our writers are instructed to avoid new or sketchy websites that curate content, don’t write anything original, and provide mostly commentary –  as they are not always working in the best interest of the reader.

Crankers will only use commentary when the commentary/opinion category is properly selected. Otherwise, all stories in news categories are using trusted/mainstream sources.

If any errors are found, please report them to us and we will make any and all corrections as needed. We usually respond within 48 hours to all requests.

We have a great relationship with fact checkers who have been mostly very helpful in helping us identify where an issue may be and also point us in the right direction of the trusted sources where we can find information to use in our own corrections.

We seek to provide the truth in journalism and will make any and all updates as more information is provided and checks out. Our writers only use reputable sources that are well known and trusted in the news industry.

We respect all fact checks and will make corrections and updates accordingly.
